Piano Walking

Yesterday I celebrated moving out of the flat, with new better pastures (properties) ahead..
We snuck into McDaniels, the yellow Chesterfield couches have appealed to me on many a passing, so I was happy to finally step inside and take a seat!

Dan got a job, so we took the opportunity to celebrate in an empty flat!
Which meant I was cleaning the kitchen at 6am in the morning...

Today we carried the piano from my old house to Kirsty's new one. A five minute walk, add on a piano, equals an hour and a half walk!

Now I'm out of the house and onto the Blues Bonanza Festival that starts tonight and is on this weekend, see you out there!

This Crazy Life

Tomorrow it's London time with Frida who is flying in from Sweden.
Currently, I am essay-writing with tea and Kirsty at hand. It's getting late.
"Tea is really good it doesn't make you feel evil like coffee" sincerely and factually.
"I'm getting the eggy burp that I get when I don't sleep" in a 'I need your affection'-voice.
You really need to hear her talk, her confusing tone of voice.

Been to the Enterprise Gym Annual Award Dinner, amazing food!
Got a blue certificate for the highest level of participation and our team won the title Champion Team of the Year! Jamie, then Dan and myself stood for the evening's entertainment

Dan and Jamie, two odd musicians in a business crowd at the reception:
Lots of clapping after each accreditation on stage.
Quite a crowd of well dressed people, bring out your table manners!
I was really enjoying the food, it was visually and audibly apparent
Cheese, pesto, tomato and vinegar heaven
Pheasant with barley risotto!
Pistachio icecream! with a brownie and raspberry sauce!

Farewell thee shadow in the night!

Friday's Post-Study Session

Today is the day of Surface Festival at Beat Generator!
Come see Kings & Cowards,
we need your support! If you can't be there make your vote count in person via text,
Text "Scotland 7008" (include the space) to 64343 to help us get through to the next round! Texts are £1 plus standard fee.
Here's yesterday on a platter:

I had flippant Moroccan stew at Parlour with Anna

After some more studying at the library, Dukes was the place to be.
Wearing Karim's hat from a store on Whitehall Cresent.
Cali and Chris!

Mr Gavin McGinty & Band - an amazing country vibe minus the irritation of the haystack!
Then Ken, Chris and myself went to a flat-party by Seagate.
The man with the Disaronno.
Best apple cake of my life.
Convincing people to come see us at Surface Festival:
One babe on the hook

Then the party took hallway proportions, everything around us distorted and narrow,
A Navy man insulted Ken with his Disaronno, saying that it doesn't have a kick, and that his grandma fed it to him as a baby. Welcome to Scotland.
Guitars broke.
Booze leaked

Tru dat!

M.I.A, having so much fun in Geneva!

Will update more when I get back to Dundee tomorrow for yet another ramapant thumpingly happy evening!
I arrived in Geneva on Monday, Annuka showed me the ropes of the town, we bought awesome pistachio macaroons from Manor, my favorite ginormous compartment store ever!
Things aren't expensive here compared to Sweden because the Swiss franc is rather low, but it is compared to the Scotland.
Then later that evening we went to Café du commerce and had cheese fondue with Flo, one of Annuka's awesome pink friends. Later on others joined, they were ace! Momo is probably one of my favorites. Daniel is rad too! The language barrier is a slight problem because there is an overload of French language that otherwise wouldn't be a problem to understand, but it's just a lot, and I've been ill, my sinuses are swollen and nasty, my body has had a hot sweaty feverish glow. So, with some I speak to through translation. Quentin speaks as little English as I speak French, or probably less.

On Tuesday, Flo drove us to Verbier, we were joined by two friendly blokes (skiers) so I wasn't alone on skiis. Annuka and Flo Snowboarded. Need I say it was amazing? I have missed skiing so much! And the snow was far better than when I visited Verbier last year. When we went home we went to Café du commerce again, and probably had the best night ever, a lot of "brilliant" expressions were coined.

On Wednesday we had amazing sushi with one of Annuka's smartest close friends. Annuka values peoples intelligence according to how many points they got in the IB. I bought pistachio milkshake at McDonald's! Then we met up with Momo and Sarah to go to Mamco, the modern art museum, bumbed into Zito (who's in the Postmen). It was good fun but mainly because they were acting silly. After this we bought macaroons, Sangria, white wine, and raclette cheese at Manor to prepare for the party!
At the party yesterday evening I met most of Annuka's good friends and had some great conversations and endured lively festivities. It ended rather late, everyone but us had to get up early the next morning, so Annuka and myself felt raher lucky.

Today, we've just walked the dog, freshened up, and now were ready to hit the town for dinner and a Postmen's concert, how awesome!!

I'll post the millions of pictures when I'm back tomorrow
Cheerio!

Christmas Fairy Tale

This summarises the days I spent at my country house outside of Gothenburg celebrating Christmas. It was very quiet and cosy and we just watched movies and ate loads of fresh home made food, really. Didn't get much reading done. But whenever we did go outside it was vastly beautiful and very cold (-15), my step-mom freaked me out by saying "your tights will mesh with your thighs!"
My dad bewildered by saying that mice lie deep in the snow to stay warm in the winter. I don't think that's true. The tiny little wild forest mice came in from the cold, traps were set in most corners, my step-granddad said "the best way to kill them is to shoot them" so they brought forth a shotgun.

Here is the proof:
Where I slept:
Living room
Frontyard view:
Various views from the terrace:

We're in the yellow house!
Christmas dinner:

The day after, traditional Swedish food: lutefisk

Ice skating, the winning activity of the visit:

Glad to be back in civilisation!

I am the Angel of Cakes!

It's really cool when your step-mom's parents adore you!
Bake you cakes and call you Angel!
This stay at our country house isn't too bad after all, very overindulgent in terms of meat, whisky, wine and schnapps. I don't like schapps.
But I like having lunch from 2.30-6, having glögg (mulled wine) and Roquefort on gingerbread as an appetiser, have intermissions between the meals and then two mains and finally dessert in the couch with great Swedish coffee and home made gingerbread cake, saffron buns and all that jazz!
Now I am off to watch Chaplin in The Great Dictator, shazam!

But not gonna lie, I miss the spontaneity of Dundee and the lovely grazable people!!
I miss...

going out in Dundee with Ken (yeah we're in Kings and Cowards together, me and this master of music) and Andy (womanizer, you need to treat your women better)
because you meet loads of people that you love (Kirsty)!!!!!
.. and some really funny chaps (Aled)
.. chilling at Lindsay, Annuka and Mandi's (here with Paul)
...Dan and Annuka of Dizzuka!

See you soon - I come bearing more Christmas-y spirit!
