Glasgow Dreams

Hey music is going well when one thing isn't.
Dundee is tiring.
All because I'm too hard on myself.

Dizzuka hosted open mic on Thursday at the Union, had a gig last Friday at the Doghouse, we've written 3-4 new songs that we perform.
Kings and Cowards, the band that I've been in the longest, was featured on Discovery Radio's Rock Show on Thursday, and just had a gig in Glasgow at Captain's Rest this Monday.
A pretty sweet getaway, overlooking all the snowy hills on the drive over, soaking in the happiness from the crowd, bands and one another as we performed on stage, rockin' out, jumping in a 1x2m rectangle's equivalent of space.

The same venue I saw Wavves play in last year.
Pretty sweet for a first gig in Glasgow. The vibe was pumpin'.
Photos up soon after I finish some homework

Times like these I feel like a cigarette

But ew no (don't worry)! So I am in Guildford. Lovely lovely Guildford 30 mins outside London city centre, with lovely Karma and Seb. Karma is a hard working gal! I brought them travel candy (Twix and Turkisk Peber) and tax paid booze - Fisk shots, Jägermeister, and a pack of my favorite commercial cider (Somersby). I snoozed like a baby, fell asleep without brushing my teeth or washing my face (the story of my life).

Today woke up early as usual, Karma and Seb were off to work and school, so I took the opportunity to relax and clean the kitchen. Clean dishes in a sink with a broken hot water tap..

The three of us met up for lunch at the Tudor Lounge and then Seb and I went food shopping, Loads of food and 24 beers that should do us for a while...

I've been fixing stuff with the house that we're renting for a year from next month, we're four now, with the awesome Sapphire as the newest addition! She's in it for the fun too! So hopefully it will all be sorted out when the landlord snaps back soon enough!

The work I was to be getting, they're not replying, so I'm visiting their store tomorrow... and while I'm there, I'm going to Lena Restaurant, a restaurant an acquaintance manages.

Now Karma just got off work and we're off for a jog and then maybe the Surrey University's Annual "Lake Party"

Oh yeah!

The Excitement!

Feeling good! Old Street (London), July 19 2009

Video footage from Saturday is up on our facebook page!
(join "Kings and Cowards" to view)

I am so 'stoked' for this week! (I'm allowed to enjoy myself in a the lazy laissez-faire fashion of a ski bum from time to time). Tomorrow's gig in Edinburgh! Beach House! Grizzly Bear! Not only am I excited about this but also the bus ride there!!! With amazing Kirsten!! With off-license booze!!

Not only is this going to make our day - but before we go, they're having a free pizza event at Social! What's not to like!!!

I think that will suffice! Can't spill anymore energy into this post or it will explode!

Now I'm off to do laundry, and start my Psychology report - even this seems exciting when I know what's to happen tomorrow!
Oh yes, I'm having a pancake breakfast!

Lizzie is Back!

Lizzie is back and this definitely made my day, if not the whole week, if not.. who knows how long! All I know is I am so happy that she is here, I have missed her so, my body is filled with joy. I have someone who is so funny and smart in my life, for this I am happy again.

This week has been quite dreary, all of us are so different and uncertainty and guilt has kept me down. I am a very social person, but I easily fly away to outerspace if I don't have people to talk to. Makes me go all shoegaze.

And this week has been hard, because of social rejection to a certain extent, and social avoidance to another. I have been wanting to work hard, and perform the best I can, and if the social, extra curricular life is hard I might as well avoid it completely and get more work done.

I am beginning to worry if I will ever meet people with my taste in music. I am generally worried about the vast percentage of students I wouldn't ever consider talking to here. A lot of them seem so blää and empty. Fake tan and short skirts, rugby body and slow body language.
Behind this exterior, is there personality?

Of this I am highly unsure. Drunk and unattentive is what I have percieved them as.

I am glad that Lizzie's back!
