Happy New Year!

Took a stroll in the forest to get the blood flowing and the fat burning. Such a beautiful day to walk in the Helsingborg forest. And I've found a gluten free vegan recipe I can make for N-balls!
"from veganmage.se...
  • 100 g mjölkfritt margarin
  • 4 dl havregryn
  • 1 dl råsocker
  • 3 msk kakao
  • 3 msk kallt starkt kaffe
  • 1 msk vaniljsocker

Bloody hard to make this stuff, I had to buy new milkfree margarine, because the first one I bought contained 0.5% egg prestervative.

Alexandra and Miracle Fruit

I'll always be Miss Princess according to the handymen of New York (April '09),
boys in Belfast will treat me like one (December '09).

Invited a friend over to momma's house;
I had a great time with Miss Longstocking tonight!

We drank barrels of hot green tea with frozen "prinsesstårta." She unveiled to me secrets of excellent cooking, oh will she make me a perfect housewife! And then maybe finally I'll be able to feed my lover?

My brother gave me a late Christmas present - an elegant pill holder of typical Scandinavian discretion - and inside it was a pill under the name of "Miracle Fruit." Experienced a rainbow of flavours in just one pill. Who needs cupcakes when this thing makes tomatoes taste like the sweetest strawberries? Miracle Fruit is the new diet pill. It makes the most healthy things taste like candy, minus the calories, plus the excitement!
___

I am looking forward to tomorrow with New Years at Filly's. I will be meeting up with crazy James and Nina first. Oh what a wonderful time to be in Helsingborg - words I never thought would escape my mouth.

The Reunion

This all took place tonight:
Boy things got sexy!
Nina is a monkey-nut, my dog is a cutiepie, we all had a jolly good time!

Having a dinner party with a couple of good ol' friends!
"You have to suck, not blow!"
One of many lively things being expressed tonight.

A High School Kid Once More.

I'm back in Helsingborg, I've been relaxing with exercise and steam showers.

The last two days in Barcelona (Christmas Eve and Christmas Day) were the best.
We had an Antoni Gaudi day on Christmas Eve. We went to Palau Güell, Sagrada Familia and Parc Güell.

Rain stopped midday on the 24th as we went to the Güell park, the sun shone through, the sky went blue. I took photos of the many joggers (predominantly muscley men in mini shorts) and befriended the creepy dragon sculpture (the uglier one that was drooling seaweed and no one was taking pictures with).

Then we walked downtown along Gràcia to avoid the subway (my mom was pick pocketed earlier this day) and went to see 'the Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus' at the only original language cinema in Barcelona!

I don't speak Spanish and I can't stand it when old men wave their finger at me thinking I'm stupid. Assholes - I'm intelligent!

Also Spanish guys stare. They seem pervy. Doubt I'll ever get jiggy with a Spaniard.

Anyhow, had the best lambchop of my life Christmas Eve (Swedish Christmas) and I got lovely little touristy gifts including the famous rather handsome Güell dragon in the form of a fridge magnet.

The next day we packed our bags and strolled in the 17 degree celsius sun!

Apart from the bitchy fat waitress with dark dark roots, the day was perfect!

-----

Now I'm going to enjoy some of mom's onion soup, then dash into town for coffee with a friend.

hola guapa!

Barcelona, a noisy, screamy place.

The weather here has not been fun - rainy and cold.

The first day I bought a juice in a market, a horrible fruit and food market. I asked for mango and recieved something that tasted like watery pineapple.
"This is not mango." The salesperson that said "hey sexy" (hola guapo) to all the bypassers replied with
"Yes it is."
"Okay... where can I throw this away?!"

The second day (yesterday) we went to the Picasso museum and saw old as well as new, previously unshown works in the 'Secret Images' exhibition, where squids have sex with women. Egh! Men are perverts, artists are perverts - Picasso was a true pervert.

However, today (day 3) I saw something even more disgusting - baby squid for tapas. I put my pint of beer infront of the little squid on my mom´s plate, with it´s creepy head and everything! I barely touched my bowl of gazpacho.

The only thing I´ve really enjoyed was the Contemporary Art Museum. I crammed a poster bigger than your dining table into the depths of my bag.
It'll cover my dorm room prison brick walls oh so well.

Back in Sweden, all the presents with me

Ugh. Got up at ten past six. left half past. Early flight to catch after two or so hours of sleep. Joined Ed to Sue's Christmas party in Hackney (Ed's mom was there and a lot of other crazy-mad adults). Got mulled wine, beer, samosas and red cheeks then headed off to 'that pub' in Hackney. A good 40minute trek in the cccold. Had pints of beer then went home inebriated, cold and hungry. Which meant that I ended up having a minced meat chicken kebab - ugh!

I am here, had a good nap on the flight that was slow to board, meaning I got an extra hour sleep. I came home and was welcomed with a small Swedish Christmas buffet. Mmm.

But there's no time to feel like a new born baby - mommy, brother and I are leaving for the airport at 3 am tonight. We'll be arriving in Barcelona tomorrow morning.

I am currently enjoying moldy cheese on ginger bread
- that's how we stay skinny in Sweden!

I like drinking at parties. Katie, Kirsten and I @ EunYi's flatparty, 2nd December.

Hiya! from Camden

Just walked to Portobello and hopped on a bus over here because I can't find any other print shops! I bought my brother two old books and bought Ed a blues calender that he better like. Kind of get bored of strenuous waiting and flying solo all the time.

Good news is I picked up my Nazi passport that arrived today! Meaning I can continue to fly solo tomorrow.

I've got to leave six-thirty tomorrow to catch my flight at nine-thirty. But I will probably drink a lot of booze late into the night anyways.
Best hangover cure:
bananas, water and an early flight made for power-napping.

Yeah, I'm stuck in London

Until my passport arrives that's where I'll be. Silly!
I rescheduled my flight to Sunday morning. My passport should be here by tomorrow!!
Poor Ed will have to bare with me for another two nights.

Silly Me

I still haven't recieved my passport.
then what does it matter that my flight's scheduled to depart as normal...
Silly me had to forget my passport in Dundee.

My ID only got me so far (to Belfast). On the Giant's Causeway rocks, 3 days ago.

Jinx! Not going to Sweden today.

All flights are suspended from Gatwick, Luton and City Airport.
According to Gatwick's website my flight is still scheduled, according to BBC news all flights are suspended?
Hopefully the weather will change and I'll hop on a plane home tonight. If my flight is cancelled they'll hook me up with another one, so all is good if the weather changes.

Will I get to Sweden tomorrow?

I don't know! Got a text from Jamie this morning after I called him saying "Hi sorry out at the moment but yes I have posted first class on tuesday." However, shortly after that Sanctuary 'the landlords' called asking if my roomie had permission to get something in my room, I say "yeah, sure.. but he did that on Tuesday?." Now I just got off the phone with my flatmate and he explained how the text he sent me was meant for his mother regarding her Christmas present.. I'm paying extra bucks for it to be here tomorrow, hopefully Royal Mail will deliver!
I miss my precious Nazi-looking passport!

Belfast was great! On Tuesday, we went to Giant's Causeway, the eighth wonder of the world, and the Irish came up with a crazy story to explain it!

Then we visited Lizzie's Grandmother who was eager to show us her new "grape seat." (shell shaped toilet seat) She liked me and warned her other elderly housemates to "watch out for this one - she drinks Guiness!" She's a funny tiny 4"10 5 stone 85 year old woman!

Then we went out and got attacked by guys in all kinds of directions, one very persistent guy in a final attempt of persuasion, said "I'll treat you like a princess!"

Next day woke up early and arrived in London, bought Ed dinner at the Little Bay restaurant near Abbey Road, it was cozy and cheap.

Belfast is the Bomb

:-)
I sucessfully managed to get myself over to Belfast without my passport!
Apparently "you can use anything you like" to get over here. It is so exciting to see where Lizzie and her family lives, especially with Kirsten around - I've never seen any of the 'Irish island' and who better to do it with than primary teacher-Lizzie and kinky dominatrix-Kirsten.

Upon arrival I complimented Kirsten for her pretty hair that looked straight and layered like cheese strings. She said "thank you Isabella, that was a very nice compliment."

Kirsten is a high maintenance bitch that requires 7 hours shopping in Belfast's city centre and Lizzie enjoyed eating her TGI cheeseburger and the way it passed right through her system.
I was feeling ill, still wondering if I have the swineflu, it's very common over here!

By the way. I bought a Burt's Bee lip balm today, I thought it was meant to be mint flavoured - it was not! Mine tastes like plastic honey. I got angry and Kirsten was happy to accept my gift.

Saturday in London, Sunday in Belfast

Going to Belfast tomorrow.
I am a lazy cow who got up not too long ago.
Yesterday was a whole lotta girly fun! Boys are silly, we don't need them*.
* Lie - I could never be attracted to a girl, what's to like? It's all soft flesh, no muscle.

Went to bed hungry thinking starvation wouldn't bother me because I'd be sleeping - I woke up, felt rejected and couldn't fall back to sleep. I was hungry. At six o'clock I decided maybe I should have something to eat.

As I was having my "Swedish breakfast" this afternoon, Alan came back from Portobello market, where I was about to head off to but Alan stopped me with his conversation... I'll go next week.

Now I am off to Kensington, I'll bring with me an Eckel's cake so that Ed will be happy to see me.

Indoors in London Part 2

We stepped outside in the end and went to the pub Bree Louise in Euston.
It was nice and Ed thought that the drunk old guy sitting behind me was very amusing.
I'm here typing away thinking of cutting my hair, and about the Little Boots concert tonight at Shepards Bush Empire, will be fun!

Indoors in London.

Tuesday was my last full day in Dundee for this term. Went to a very sucessful full band practice. Sounded great and rhytmn was intact unlike on other occasions where it has been a tad too fast. Great to have Aaron's lovely girlfriend sitting on his bed reading a book - we're having a full fledged practice session crammed around the king-sized bed taking up most of the space in his smallish room.

I stayed behind and got drunk, learnt everything there was to know about classic rock (so it seemed), handed my CV to the Irish pub Clancy's on my way back home.

Woke up early next morning to do the first set of laundry since late October - I wnated to be fresh and clean before I hopped on the long train ride to London. I took the six hour train and arrived in London halv seven. Took the tube to West London and then went to Portobello's "On the Green," a pub where only old men play blues.

It's getting late, it's Ed's day off and I've only left the flat once at noon to buy breakfast..

I'm Happy but Sad

Just had my exam, now I'm consolling myself with tomato soup, espresso and a new episode of Californication. The exam didn't go that well, so really, I should be unhappy about it.
We'll see when the final grades arrive...
I'm not really that sad I suppose, more like a happy retard.

Lazy Sunday

Lizzie left today, is back in Belfast now. EunYi is leaving for Korea tomorrow, I can't be bothered to pick up my beer...
I don't really want to study but I have a big test tomorrow (60% of my final grade in IBE!!) I will have to force myself. I can't believe this is it, then the crazy holidays begin, mine is a month and a half long!

Music Music Music

@ Templelane with a new bunch of girls, Zoe posing by my side.

Christmas Dinner was fun but far too brief.

Kirsten was experiencing cramps so Lizzie and I were the only two in flat 8 who headed out (with Tamar, Sam, Leah and then Zoe). We went to Templelane (2 for £5-cocktails and the Lichtenstein mural), 'twas lovely. Then we headed on to the Union...

We got more drinks, then hit Floor 5, then left, to went down to Mono. I reached my breaking point. I could not handle any more radio Rn'B songs, so I ran back to floor 5 again, alone. Met some nice people who were into music (go figure!) and hopefully they will pass on the skills of DJ-ing down to me. Then I tagged along to an after party where they had turntables in the living room and self-made recyclable art on the walls.
Am I still in Dundee? is what I thought to myself.
I also remember saying 'I think I could make better art than that...'

Women at Work

Last night, preparing 'Christmas Dinner.' The boys sat and watched housewives in the making.

The turkey sandwiches taste so much better today.

Studying & Thinking About Food

Studying my ass off today 'cause I was lazy yesterday
and did nothing at all.

Tonight we're having Christmas dinner at the flat, however don't really know how much of a proper dinner it will be since I believe that two of my favourite flatmates are making turkey sandwiches (- not real food)! My contribution to the buffet-styled affair will be:
- Swedish meat balls (what makes Swedish meatballs Swedish?)
- mini sausages ('prinskorv' aka "prince sausages")
- lingon berry sauce
- creamy pepper sauce
- boiled carrots and broccoli (no one really eats vegetables in my flat)
- cupcakes (buying them from Greggs)

I've come to the conclusion that maybe a lot of students here in Dundee weren't encouraged to try new foods, and mature in their taste for food, as we were in Sweden. It's considered lame and pathetic not to try new things back home. Here? It's the fucking norm.

I'm preparing for the only degree exam that I have left,
International Business Environment.

I need my chocolate and clementines (et al) when I study,
that's why I keep going to the gym so often.

Thursday, 3 December 2009

Dude, I'm so Sweaty.

Went to the gym, burnt 800 kcals, so proud of myself. José and Karim ran into me on the treadmill ('haha'), and to quote José, I was, to say the least, "sweaty and gross." Thanks José!
That's what you get when you want to burn kcals quickly.
I think these pictures best describe my everyday-gym look:
Ah, I'm so gross!

The sweaty dog look.

A Swedish Love Story

I have stayed up and watched this movie. Stunning 70's movie. Stylish grown-up looking kids in leather jackets, riding motorcycles, smoking cigarettes indoor, outdoors, they didn't think smoking was dangerous back then. It was very Swedish - everything was quiet and beautiful.

Watch it: Part 1 & Part 2

Everything's in Swedish, but no one ever speaks much. But the dad says something glorious in the end, I'll translate it for you:
"If I could give a speech, I would give it to the whole world, and I would tell them what a bunch of assholes they all are."

Skills & Thrills

Checked my results for the MC exam I did yesterday - A1.
So, A1 can be achieved from covering 10 lectures in a day.

Very excited about London! Been checking out listings of concerts when I'm there - I don't wanna miss a thing.

Next Friday, I am going to see Little Boots with Ellie Goulding and Wolfgang @ Shepards Bush Empire!
And on Wednesday the 16th, Julian Casablancas is playing at HMV Forum! Only the teen crush of my life!

Flat Party @ D20

Great flat party last night at the Hub.
My £12 worth of alcohol got me a long way down drunken lane and la la land (4 pack of Red Stripe, 6 Coronas, a bottle of Lambrini).
Afterwards, home and drunk, I was too loud & clumsy, out of balance, I got water in the kitchen, opened my cupboard to get bananas, knocked down an ale that splashed its way all across the floor and the glass shattered into pretty little pieces.

Walking down the hallway, approaching my room, Alex swings the door open, angry as fuck:
"Stop Clomping about! Go to bed, stay in your room! For god's sake I can't sleep, it's half four in the morning!!"
Wow, was I flabbergasted. Didn't know someone could get so angrily bossy over such petty things. Especially not a tiny person like Alex.
From now on I'll think of her as the Chihuahua.
(To be fair, I probably was really annoying).
