Music is my Life

I bought a t-shirt with this print last year in NY at Forever 21.

Now I feel like it's more or less true, I don't live for my Accounting module, I live for cupcakes, boys and music.

P.S. Don't miss Kings and Cowards comeback with spanking Ken, Monday at Dexter's we will be playing in Battle of the Bands!!!!!

Music Therapy rather than HW

Absent minded look from doing homework:

I need to get back on top of the books! This is the longest ever I've been at home since I came to Dundee (two weeks ago). A day!! Not stressing back for sleep and then running for lectures spanning from 9-6 then hitting a society and out and all this in a cycle. I am currently in Bands Society (Vice President), Arts Society, Surf Club and the Enterprise Gym. By the way the Enterprise Gym is awesome, it's very motivating and creative, seeing Tony Banks this coming Friday!

Alright now I might go and have a cupcake at Annuka's
Cheerio.
Chris and I wrote a song yesterday! Voilà here are my lyrics:

Verse: Baby come back to me
now I'm making lots of money
You can stay here for free
I'll always ask you how you are..

Chorus: You go on about your music
How it makes you feel alright
I buy you £10 bangers and mash,
you'd rather go off play the drums
than hang around

Verse: .. I get an autopilot reply
You'll never want to know me
But I know you better
than peanut butter and jam

Chorus: In a relationship
don't ever be too honest, boys can't handle it
I hate this game
I wish I could marry myself

Melodic rockness/solo, crazy hollering

Surfing Hurts

Today I went surfing for the first time with the club. On land everything seemed fine, I could jump up on the board no problem. Then the first wave hit me and i wasn't really prepared so the board tore away from my arm in the current (and now it's getting progressively stiffer and more painful to move). Then I paddle a bit the waves are big and nice, but i keep diving under the waves and they keep smashing up my face. So the pro Jesus gives us two newbies quick tips and I feel motivated to get back in, "hellz yeah" but then the waves are harder and the fin of my board manages to scratch my eye from eyebrow to cheek as well as banging up my chin. I don't know why photo booth makes people look perfect but the scratches don't look that good in real life..
I don't mean to whine but I return home face and arm mangled, and expected to like surfing?
I feel like the sea hates me and is bullying me, punching me over and over again, like a wife beating husband. Who needs a man when you've got the sea?

But of course, I won't give up. I'll keep on trying even if it means I end up looking like a boxer.

House Circus

Our house still isn't fixed...
But I've been enjoying a rampant weekend, despite not being able to get into the house upon arrival - no one had the keys!
On Friday there was the house party then Abertay union's alernative/indie night. Stayed over at Kirsty's flat, her double bed is heaven!
On Saturday I became the Vice President of Dundee University Band Society! We got loads of people to sign up for DUBS at the Fresher's Society Fayre! Annuka and I went to a music festival during the day at Dundee Botanic Gardens and continued into the night and Lindsay joined in to go to the Pendulum DJ set! Awesome sweaty craziness. Freshers week has never been this good. I stay at Annuka's, her bed is okay. Sunday I moved all my shizz to the flat but somehow ended up staying at Kirsty's again after the Survivors party.
Yesterday I became class rep for our Economics module.

Now I'm off to class!

Off to Scotland with a Boom!

I cut my hair at Darren Parker yesterday - do the same!
He will frame your face.

Yeah I'm already tired at the thought of travelling but hopefully I will be able to read and do plenty of sudoku to prevent boredom's brain damage. I am in a lazy mood these days and it's from all the commuting and the feeling of physically "going nowhere" in terms of where the home/heart is. But, hey Dundee here I come! So excited to see everyone again! To hug, touch squeeze, pinch!

P.S. I did my duty as a Swedish citizen and voted!! Do the same!
see you tomorrow in a different country
- Skinny (Fat?) Swede Scotland Edition
Photos will be up tomorrow or on Saturday from more recent adventures of the summer. Depending on how hearty I'm feeling.
We don't have internet at our house yet...

Ciao bello

Kids are Strange

Haha, I've been going through my old stuff that I've saved in boxes from when I was a little kid.
I've taken some badges from my Girl Scout U.S.A vest. My USA safety pin flag will make an awesome fashion statement. And and I'm taking photos from my childhood vacations were I have cut and pasted my friends into holiday photos, haha.

I also found some highly amusing poetry that I made in third grade:
Lions are huge cats
But only females hunt
Males are so lazy.

Kick ass!
Now I'm off to town to meet up with Michelle and drink wine in the early noon, cutting my hair too. Got a lotta plans today and people to squeeze in it!

Very excited for Dundee - I'm having a little gathering (HOUSE PARTY) when I go back on Friday!

Adventures Back Home

I went to my summer house in Bohuslän and managed to swim, ride across the sea, and a session of awesome wakeboarding!!

To Copenhagen to see Nina, went to Bob Dylan's exhibit at Statens Museum for Kunst, bumped into Claudia, we united and strolled here and there, went to see Toy Story 3 - great times!
FYI on the big cigarette I am liking a lollipop!!

Rouge

Calling this post "rouge" to describe my day and those that will come this following week as I return to Sweden to live a life with a silver spoon in my mouth! I've always associated it with drama, extravagance and velvet luxury.

Yesterday was my last day at Karen Millen (in London). We'll see if I get working in Glasgow... don't know if the heels are worth it when I sell for minimum £50/hour, and don't really get a lot in return.

I want to start investing properly and set up my own online business selling functional canvas bags that don't look cheap like they always do (££€€$$) !

Today Karma and I have had a frickin fab day in Woking!! Shopping! I picked out a pair of grey trousers that Seb bought and a sexy grey skirt for Karma. I bought some presents. I got a bag, a handmade necklace and a knit cape (shown below!!) Then we hit spooons!

Anyhow I will be splashing a bunch of posts up with loads of photos and gossip when I return to Swedenland - tomorrow noon!!

Saturday, 28 August 2010

On thursday a stayed over at a friends went to 'Spoons for curry night of course! On Friday I met my future flatmate Melody, she was lovely and we had a great time at... Spoons! Pitchers of Pimms!

Now I'm having £11 red red pinot noir with Karma - the delicious thing! I'm wearing a glittery golden vintage top with leather shorts and a headband chain scarf. I am a hippie! Now Karma and I are going out! catch you later
- life is crazy, stay safe

Walking All Over London in the Rain with my Sunshine

Fun day in London with American boy James!! We went to Buckingham Palace, Westminster, and Piccadilly Circus (the Waterstone's is amazing), ate drank at Wetherspoon twice in a day. And I am going there again tomorrow...

Will see James in Sweden again next week, feels surreal to be going back since I feel like vacations have vacated my life. I will be returning to Scotland the 10th, can't wait. I am in a happy place with most things but I am physically exhausted!

Uploading photos from my escapades this weekend later - Gavin (lead guitarist of the band) was here and we partiied I met the fun crowd he was with - on Monday I went out with Dillman, Ivy and Scott for drinks and karaoke. The three Swedish girls Dillman invited out were bores, stiff lil Scandinavians. I remember what it is I like about the UK. Frigid isn't the norm.

Spotless

I want this academic year to be spotless and for me to take on even more responsibilities and challenges.
I've started off by registering at the Enterprise Gym for the Young Entrepreneur Society and I will also be attending Dundee Debates to improve the structure of my arguments (all my friends know I need to)! I wanted to join Dundee Investment Society but they seem to have disappeared from the list of societies. Scottish students would rather spend their overdraft on Lambrini than stocks, so I gather.

Off for a jog to get the perfect body.
Hey, I'm 20 I can still eat dessert!

P.S. I miss Karma so damn much she left me the sweetest note!! I fell asleep as usual before I could say good-bye... I'm such a granny.

Yesterday I squeezed the life out of her arm as we watched Inception with the beautiful Gordon-Levitt in it.

Tequila

We went out for some tequila for Tilly's leaving party at various venues:
It was a good night that only cost me one drink. A guy offered me a cigarette I said no, don't waste your time, money and health. He got offended and annoyed and yelled at me your breath stinks! Then I had some guy walk me home although he was walking in the wrong direction - he lived far far away but enjoyed telling me tales of his Omani oil consultant for a father... Weirdoes in the wild. Poor Karma only got an hour's sleep and is feeling horrible today poor Pookie hasn't slept for days with all her 7 am shifts.
